LGC turns one at Bicester Village

15th July 2022

LGC x BV one year on

July 26th marks one year of London Grade Coffee at Bicester Village. It’s certainly been an interesting time: opening our first ever café in such a high volume environment has its challenges! However, we wouldn’t change it for the world. Whether its our lovely returning regulars who make coming in to work everyday worthwhile, or the huge variety of interesting people from all over the world who we are fortunate enough to welcome, there’s no place quite like BV. So, we wanted to mark the occasion in style. To celebrate we are giving away 100 cookies from the legendary Gatineau Bakery, who supply us with the most delicious French bakes every single morning. So swing by Bicester Village on the 26th July to grab a free piece of cookie heaven! We’ve certainly come a long way since we opened, and we simply couldn’t have done it without YOU! So thank you to all of our lovely customers, and here’s to many more years to come!

LGC x Mad Heads

Now that we’ve been up and running for some time and all is running smoothly (fingers crossed!) we find ourselves looking around for what demands our attention. For LGC has never just been about serving up the most incredible coffee. Being conscious of the wider world and our place within it remains central to our mission. Shocked by the war in Ukraine, we believe that is our duty as a business to play our small part. For us, this starts for with supporting Ukrainian businesses.

Social media has allowed us to connect with Mad Heads coffee roasters. Roasting out of Kyiv, Mad Heads source and roast great coffees from all over the world. We will be pulling their Burundi Gahahe on espresso; with notes of Apple, Plum, and Red Wine, it promises to pack a juicy punch! We are also serving up two delicious pour overs:

  • Colombia Rosa Blanca: with notes of pineapple, passion fruit and VERMOUTH and a Q Grade of 90 this promises to be mind-alteringly good!
  • Indonesia Frinsa Edun: with notes of dried banana, passion fruit, and dry white wine, this one is certainly out there. We love showcasing coffees that change how we perceive coffee itself. This promises to do so!

We are certain that their delicious coffee will fly out of the bar! £1 from every Mad Heads coffee retail or drink sale will be donated to the British Red Cross in support of their humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.

LGC x SMILEY

A further exciting campaign that we are running this summer falls under Bicester Village’s ‘DO GOOD’ initiative. This year, BV is teaming up with Smiley, an organisation founded on the principle of ‘defiant optimism’. Smiley works to pair great causes with the resources that they need. In this instance:

  • Smart Works – A UK charity that empowers unemployed women
  • Into University – An education access charity that provides local learning centres
  • Brides do good – A community supporting young girls’ education, that also works to end child marriage

We here at LGC simply had to get on board! So, we are delighted to introduce the ‘Smiley Spritz!’ Available throughout the summer of this year, £1 from every Smiley Spritz sold (a delicious elderflower lemonade) will be donated to Smiley. So, get down to Bicester Village for a refreshing summer drink that does good!
